The names 'Ridgeview' and 'Dermot Sugrue' denote English wine royalty. Ridgeview is a regular feature of official UK state banquets. Dermot Sugrue is a pioneer of English sparkling wine and long considered one of the country’s ‘best winemakers’. So has said Steven Spurrier, amongst others. English wine continues to impress the global wine world, consistently besting wines in international competitions against long-established wine producers, including from Champagne.
IWFS is excited to be offering an exceptional day in the Sussex countryside with both producers. The tentative schedule is as follows:
12:30 – 16:00 Ridgeview Wine Estate: Lunch, Tour and Tasting
16:30 – 18:00 Sugrue South Downs: Winery Tour
19:00 – 22:00 Dinner with Dermot Sugrue featuring his wines at Ockenden Manor Hotel
Alternatively, you can join us just for the exquisite dinner at the hotel.
Ockenden Manor Hotel is a fine Elizabeth manor house in Cuckfield with an award winning restaurant on eight acres of grounds (Ockenden Manor Hotel & Spa - Cuckfield, West Sussex).
We will be joined by 18 of our Society members from the Oslo, Norway branch, who will be touring the area over the preceding weekend. This event is a unique opportunity for a limited number of Brits to join them to generate international flair and comradery.
