Judgement+50 Unblinded

The Judgement+50 verdict is in! 221 IWFS members + guests (including 2 Masters of Wine and Decanter magazine) across eight venues on three continents have voted their favourite wines. They are:

2024 Kumeu River Coddington chardonnay (New Zealand)

2019 Shafer TD-9 Bordeaux blend (Napa Valley)

However, the final scores for each category were extremely close, with just 0.8 points (out of 20) separating the 6 red wines and only 0.6 points for the whites. And goodness knows, many of the other wines also received top marks as the favourite amongst the participants. The two winners didn’t ‘wow’ everyone equally. Palates and opinions clearly differed widely, attesting to wine’s diversity and individual appeal.

All these differences provide fodder for friendly conversation and debate! We are therefore pouring the same twelve wines again – this time UNBLINDED. This tasting will be casual and informal. We will have the cumulative results of our J+50 event as well as the MW's rankings on hand to compare your impressions.
